Carlton C. Ervin

As of October 1, 2009, Carlton C. Ervin has been named Chief Development Officer, Europe and is leading the newly formed Europe Division combining the existing United Kingdom, Ireland and Continental Europe regions.
Carlton Ervin most recently served as Senior Vice President of International Hotel Development for the regions of the UK & Ireland, Spain & Portugal, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and former Yugoslavia, for all Marriott Brands. He relocated to Zurich, Switzerland in August 2008 to join the EMEA Development Team.
Prior to his relocation to Zurich he held the position of Vice President and then Senior Vice President of Caribbean & Latin American Development for Marriott, Renaissance, Ritz-Carlton, Bulgari,, Courtyard and Residence Inn, from 2002-
2008.
Before joining Marriott’s Lodging Development Department Mr. Ervin worked as a development attorney (in the Caribbean & Latin America) for Marriott's Legal Department, from 2000 to 2002.
From 1996 to 2000, Mr. Ervin worked in Manhattan as an associate in the corporate banking division with the New York law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Immediately out of law school, Mr. Ervin worked as an international associate for law firms in Buenos Aires, Argentina (1995 – 1996).
Mr. Ervin received a JD (cum laude) from Harvard Law School in 1995 and a dual degree (BA) in Economics and Political Science (magna cum laude) from Duke University in 1992.
