Peter Vermeer

Peter joined IHG under Bass in 1977 as Assistant General Manager in Hotel Eretria Beach (Greece), after having held different hotel related positions in Spain, Austria and Switzerland.

From 1979 till 1993 he gained extensive experience as a General Manager in Morocco, Spain and Belgium where he accepted the appointment of General Manager of the Crowne Plaza Antwerp in 1987.

Peter then joined the Hotel Opening Division in 1993. Subsequently he was given the responsibility for franchise services in Germany, Benelux and Eastern Europe. He then joined the development team in 1996. In this position he gained authority in the Eastern European countries and in-depth market knowledge in countries related to his last assignment: Germany, Austria and Benelux.

In June 2003 Peter moved from Brussels to Frankfurt as VP Development & Technical Services for Central and Eastern division. In June 2005 Peter returned to Brussels as VP Development Benelux & Eastern Europe.

Peter holds a graduate degree in hotel management from CERIA, Brussels.
